ITAR-TASS correspondent was told at the Uzbek State Space Research Agency (Uzbekcosmos) today.
The agency clarified that the cost of each satellite would range between 60-70m dollars, depending on the situation
on the electronic equipment market at the time.
The satellites, one communications satellite and one satellite for the remote sensing of the Earth, are planned to be
launched at the Russian advanced Angara rocket and space complex.
It was noted at the agency that the launch of the two Uzbek satellites would be carried out within the framework of a
memorandum on mutual understanding. This was signed, within the framework of mutual cooperation in building Uzbek
satellites, between Uzbekcosmos and the Russian state Khrunichev space centre in 2001.
