06 June 2004 19:34 Tajik Social Democrats to publish paper The Social Democratic Party of Tajikistan is to launch a weekly beginning from June, the Tajik newspaper Vecherniy

Quoting the deputy leader of the party, Shokirjon Hakimov, the report said the newspaper will be called "Social
Democrat" and come out in two languages - Tajik and Russian.
"The launching of the newspaper is in the first instance a tactical move made as part of the party's
strategy for the forthcoming (2005) parliamentary elections," the paper quoted Hakimov as saying.
