Duma passes law on rallies
MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - The State Duma on Friday passed a bill in the third reading titled On Rallies, Demonstrations, Marches, and Pickets. Under this document, pickets, rallies and other such actions can be conducted near the buildings of state authorities, local-self-government bodies, and embassies. Mass events will only be banned in areas directly adjacent to dangerous or harmful production facilities and other facilities whose operation requires the observance of special safety rules, including bridges, railways, oil and gas pipelines, high-voltage electric power lines, and territories directly adjacent to presidential residences, courts, and border areas.
