MTS to stress corporate governance standards at subsidiaries
MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - Mobile TeleSystems intends to put increased emphasis on standards of corporate governance at its subsidiary companies, MTS vice president Nikolai Tsekhomsky said at the international conference Corporate Governance and Economic Growth in Russia on Thursday. "The acquisition program in Russia is ended, the main peak in the acquisition of regional operators was in 2002-2003," he said. MTS has over ten regional subsidiaries. To increase the quality of company information disclosure, MTS has joined two services: PR and investor relations. "This will allow the mass media and investment community to receive the same information," Tsekhomsky said. [RU EUROPE EEU ASIA EMRG TEL CORA] cf
