MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - Salavatnefteorgsintez, a petrochemicals company in Bashkortostan, and the Italian concern Technimont have inked a contract for building facilities to make suspension polyethylene at the Russian enterprise, this being a product currently not produced in Russia. "Salavatnefteorgsintez is one of Russia's top petrochemicals industry companies. The new line will let the company not only arrange for producing the necessary raw material for domestic consumers, but also to expand its export opportunities," the press service quotes company board chairman Alexander Ryazanov. The Gazprom press service has announced that the 120,000-tonne/year production line will take three years to build. Salavatnefteorgsintez already produces over seventy different products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, fuel oils, liquefied gases, butylene, ammonia, carbamide, polyethylene, polystyrene, sulfur and a wide assortment of household goods made from plastics. Technimont became its partner after winning a tender for designing a project and supplying and installing equipment for producing suspension polyethylene. Ryazanov (who is also a top Gazprom executive), Bashkortostan's President Murtaz Rakhimov and Technimont representatives signed the contract at the Italian Embassy in Moscow on Wednesday.
