RUSSIAN OIL PRODUCTION UP 10.6% IN JAN-MAY
MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Oil production in Russia in January- May this year, including gas condensate, increased by 17.7 million tonnes or 10.6% year-on-year to amount to 185.745 million tonnes or 8.9 million barrels per day. According to the latest figures from the Russian Industry and Energy Ministry, Russia produced 38.435 million tonnes of oil in May. Russian vertically integrated companies produced 170.592 million tonnes of oil in the first five months of the year, including 35.269 million tonnes in May. In particular, in January-May Yukos produced 35.445 million tonnes, including 7.274 million tonnes in May; Lukoil - 34.542 million tonnes and 7.109 million tonnes respectively, Surgutneftegas - 24.03 million tonnes and 4.96 million tonnes, Sibneft - 13.78 million tonnes and 2.847 million tonnes, Tatneft - 10.39 million tonnes and 2.14 million tonnes, Rosneft - 8.64 million tonnes and 1.787 million tonnes, Sidanco - 8.16 million tonnes and 1.7 million tonnes, and finally Slavneft - with 8.8 million tonnes in the first five months and 1.82 million tonnes in May. Exports of Russian oil through the Transneft system to outside the CIS increased 23% year-on-year to amount to 71.8 million tonnes in Companies with Russian capital and joint ventures with foreign investment produced 9.785 million tonnes of oil in January-May 2004, including 2.046 million tonnes in May. Gazprom produced 5.023 million tonnes of crude in the first five months of the year, including 1.035 million tonnes in May and production sharing agreement operators produced 344,400 tonnes, including 84,900 tonnes in May. Gas production in Russia in January-May amounted to 273.96 billion cubic meters, up 3% year-on-year. Gas production in May amounted to 52.289 bcm. January-May 2004. In May Transneft exported 14.98 million tonnes of Russian oil outside the CIS. Russian oil companies exported 15.94 million tonnes of oil to the CIS in the first five months of the year, up from 15.57 million tonnes in the same period last year.
