RUSSIA HOPES FOR FURTHER CREDIT RATING UPGRADE - PM
MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Russia hopes the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development will provide Russia with further assistance in achieving credit rating upgrades, Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said at a meeting with OECD Secretary General Donald Johnston. "We hope that positive dynamics (rating upgrades) will continue along with the further liberalization of the Russian economy," Fradkov said. Russia's creditworthiness rating has climbed from the seventh group of risks to the fourth since October 2000. "Russia has observer status in the OECD and takes part in the work of various committees and working groups. Now we are analyzing the terms for joining and looking at the terms this requires, we have started discussing ways to join the organization," Fradkov said.
