Russia - Megafon net profit up 29% to Rouble1.14 bil in Q1
Megafon (Russia), mobile phone operator, made a net profit up 29% to Rouble1.14 bil on a revenue up 28% to Rouble3.51 bil in 1st-qtr 2004 vs the year-earlier period, under Russian accounting standards. Megafon's pretax profit rose by 29.4% to Rouble1.42 bil over the same period. The company had 8.13 mil subscribers as of 30 April 2004.
