Tax Ministry demands Yukos documents for 2000
MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - The Tax Ministry has demanded that Yukos oil company produce additional documents on tax payments in 2000, a ministry source told Interfax. The source also said the ministry has asked the Interior Ministry for assistance in conducting searches and recovering documents from the oil company on this issue. Senior Tax Ministry spokesman Viktor Osokin told Interfax that he has no information on this matter. Interior Ministry officials also refused to comment. The Moscow Arbitration Court is holding a preliminary hearing on Yukos's demand to invalidate a Tax Ministry decision on recovering taxes and penalties of 99.4 billion rubles. Yukos disagrees with the results of the ministry's inspection of its tax payments in 2000. [RU EUROPE ASIA EEU EMRG POL] ml tl <>
