More miners in southern Russia join hunger strike over wage arrears
The number of employees of the Rostovugol [Rostov Coal] association who have joined a hunger strike in the town of Shakhty in Rostov Region has risen to 41. The workers of the mining equipment plant who had been on hunger strike were joined today by 25 miners from the Shakhty construction and assembly directorate. The demands of the newly-joining are the same, namely that wage arrears should be repaid. Let me remind you that the hunger strike was declared on 31 May by nine workers from the mining equipment plant.
