Media expert says sacked Russian TV presenter has case against employers
Leonid Parfenov has legal grounds to challenge the decision to sack him in court. The director of the National
Television and Radio Broadcasting Research Centre, Aleksey Samokhvalov, has expressed this view in an interview with our
radio station. Samokhvalov noted that current legislation does not allow for such a sudden sacking. Leonid Parfenov
himself told us in a live interview that he had been dismissed in a staff reduction move connected to the closure of the
"Namedni" programme.
