Lawyers of former FSB employee launch complaint
MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - Lawyers of Mikhail Trepashkin, former Lt. Col. of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and currently a lawyer, sentenced to four years in custody for divulgence of a state secret, have launched a complaint at the Supreme Court, head of the Moscow District Military Court press service Yevgeny Komissarov told Interfax on Monday. He said the lawyers have asked the court to annul the sentence as "illegal and unfounded." The Moscow District Military Court pronounced Trepashkin guilty of divulgence of a state secret and illegal storing ammunition and sentenced him on May 19. The lawyers said the divulgence charge was based on the transfer of a certain document to another former staff member of the FSB. They said the document contained information about an accomplice in the hostage situation at Nord-Ost musical in Moscow in October 2002. They said Trepashkin wanted his acquaintance to convey the information to the FSB. The court also charged Trespashkin with abuse of force for copying a number of documents while he was employed in the Soviet KGB. [RU EUROPE EEU EMRG CRIM LAW] te tl <>
