LANIT, Ericsson sign cooperation pact ByLine: Volodymyr Obolonsky
The firm Ericsson and the holding company LANIT of Russia have signed a cooperation agreement to expand and build up the presence of the Swedish telecom equipment manufacturer on the Ukrainian market. Specifically, the Kiev-based company LANIT - Iv Com, which specializes in system integration, will carry out joint projects in Ukraine. In accordance with the agreement LANIT - Iv Com is supposed to organize a partnership network as well as to design courses for partners and customers, among other things. According to Andrei Shatalin of Ericsson Enterprise, last year 68% and 18% of the corporate communication market within the CIS fell on Russia and Ukraine, respectively. Aleksandr Kucheruk, LANIT - Iv Com director in charge of system integration, told the press that the market share of Ericsson communication facilities was estimated at 4-7% in Ukraine in 2003. "We would like to double it," he said.
