Russian mine disposal team goes to Spain on training in NATO standards
Moscow, 1 June: The first group of mine disposal experts from the Russian Emergencies Ministry has begun training at an international mine disposal centre in Madrid, the deputy head of the ministry's information department, Viktor Beltsov, has said. Russian experts are being trained at facilities belonging to the Spanish military engineering academy. The training in Spain is being attended by mine disposal experts from the Leader High Risk Rescue Centre No 249 and Rescue Centre No 179 from Moscow Region's town of Noginsk. "The training is based on NATO standards and Russian Emergencies Ministry experts will be trained in defusing aircraft bombs without detonators," Beltsov said. Knowledge and experienced received by Russian experts in Madrid will be later adopted by the ministry's other units.
