30 May 2004 04:48 Lukoil not planning to alter operations in Saudi Arabia MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Russia's Lukoil oil company is not planning to change its operations in Saudi Arabia
in the wake of the Saturday terrorist attack in that country, press secretary of Lukoil Overseas, the Lukoil operator of
international extraction projects, Grigory Volchek told Interfax.
"We do not intend to change our plans for Saudi Arabia, including the opening of a permanent office due in
summer," he said.
He said company employees were absent from the compound attacked by terrorists. "All Lukoil staff members are
safe and sound and working according to schedule," he said.
Volchek added that in the absence of a permanent office Lukoil personnel is shuttling between Russia and Saudi
Arabia. "The terrorist attack did not affect our work there," he said. "Neither the Russian side, nor the
Saudi is changing working schedules," he added.
In March Lukoil signed a contact with the Saudi Petroleum Ministry for developing a gas field. The Luksar joint
