Russian output growth slows slightly in first half-year
Moscow, 31 May: Russia's industrial output is expected to grow at an annual rate of 6.7 per cent in January-June this year, according to the monitoring report for January-April prepared by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, released today. In the first half of 2003, the figure stood at 6.8 per cent. In January-April, Russia's industrial output grew at a rate of 7.4 per cent against 6.3 per cent in the same period a year before. "Early this year adjusted industrial production grew relatively fast, exceeding the pace in late 2003, but being slower than it was in early 2003," the report read. For this year, the ministry forecasts Russia's industrial output to grow at an annual rate of 6.1 per cent against 7 per cent last year.
