Putin congratulates Chechen football team
[Presenter] Vladimir Putin has congratulated Groznyy's football team Terek on its victory in the Russian cup and
described this event as a symbol of the restoration of Chechnya. The president was speaking at a meeting with the
footballers and the republic's leaders.
[Putin] I congratulate you all on the victory: the players, coaches, and all those who were involved in the
organization and restoration of the team, and organization of its tournament successes in the past years.
[Alu Alkhanov, Chechen interior minister] First of all, for us this is the victory of the policy of the federal
centre and your policy first of all, the victory of the policy of Akhmat Khadzhi [Kadyrov, late president] and really
the victory of the peaceful restoration process which now has clear-cut forms in Chechnya.
