Russian money supply rises 1.8% in April
MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - Russian M2 money supply (national definition) went up 1.8% in April 2004 to 3.48 trillion rubles from 3.42 trillion, the Central Bank of Russia reported on its website. Money supply increased 8.4% in January-April 2004 from 3.21 trillion rubles. Cash supply (M0) rose 5.5% in April 2004 to 1.23 trillion from 1.16 trillion rubles, and non-cash supply dipped 0.1% to 2.25 trillion from 2.26 trillion rubles. Cash supply increased 7.2% in January-April from 1.15 trillion, and non-cash supply grew 9.1% from 2.06 trillion. The M2 aggregate is the volume of cash in circulation (outside banks) and balances in national currency in the settlement and current accounts and deposits of resident non-financial enterprises, organizations and individuals.
