28 May 2004 23:48 Moscow court to hear Sodbusinessbank liquidation case on June 24 MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - The Moscow arbitration court on June 24 will hear the Central Bank's lawsuit for the
forced liquidation of Sodbusinessbank, Central Bank first deputy chairman Andrei Kozlov announced.
He told a Friday briefing that the suit was filed on May 18. "We hope that the assets will be sufficient to
satisfy the claims of the depositors and that there will be a liquidation procedure," Kozlov said. If assets prove
insufficient to satisfy the claims, the court will have to pass a bankruptcy ruling, he said.
Responding to a question from journalists, he voiced hope that Sodbusinessbank depositors will be able to collect
their money sooner than in a year's time.
Meanwhile, clients will be able to begin collecting property kept in safety deposit boxes at Sodbusinessbank next
week.
Kozlov said the temporary administration imposed by the Central Bank did not discover any significant loss of
property after being allowed to enter Sodbusinessbank headquarters on Thursday.
The Central Bank revoked Sodbusinessbank's banking license and appointed a temporary administration for its
failure to observe federal banking laws and Central Bank regulations on fighting money laundering. [RU EUROPE ASIA EEU
