Caucasus train blast terror attack, Russia says
Vladikavkaz/Yessentuki, 29 May: The prosecutor's office in North Ossetia has opened a criminal investigation into [this morning's] blast on the Moscow-Vladikavkaz passenger train, under Article 205 of the Criminal Code, relating to terrorism, the Russian Prosecutor-General's Office Department in the North Caucasus told Interfax news agency today. "The deputy head of the North Caucasus Department of the Russian Prosecutor-General's Office Department and the top prosecutors from North Ossetia have left urgently for the scene, a spokesman said. "A number of theories are being worked on in regard to this crime and urgent operational measures are being taken to investigate it," the spokesman said. [ITAR-TASS reported at 0758 gmt that a Russian Railways company team led by the company's first vice-president, Khasan Zyabirov, was heading for the scene of the blast]
