Audit Chamber to end check on major oil companies in July
MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - Russia's Audit Chamber will complete checks on major oil companies in July, Audit Chamber Chairman Sergei Stepashin told the press Thursday. Among the companies being checked are Sibneft, Lukoil, Yukos and Transneft, he said. Audit Chamber auditor Vladimir Panskov is carrying out the checks. The investigations are linked with tax minimization by these companies and, correspondingly, budget losses, Stepashin said. This type of tax minimization is carried out within a legislative framework that enables such schemes to be implemented. The Audit Chamber exists to reduce such opportunities, he added.
