Audit Chamber to report on outcome of privatization
MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - Senior Audit Chamber officials plan to meet on July 2 to analyze the outcomes of privatization over the past 10 years, its Chairman Sergei Stepashin told the State Duma on Thursday. The Duma may have this issue on its agenda some time in the fall, he said. Asked by a Duma member why the governor of Chukotka has bought a Boeing aircraft "that even the U.S. president does not have," Stepashin said this question must be answered by the country and the authorities that allow someone to make that kind of money. "If someone is a category A official, one must act like a category A official," he said. [RU EUROPE ASIA EMRG CRIM] ap tl <>
