Vimpelcom Q1 net profit soars 84% to US GAAP (Part 2)
Net profit was $67.74 million in the fourth quarter of 2003. Revenue in January-March 2004 increased 70.9% year-on-year to MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - One of Russia's leading telecommunications operators Vimpelcom saw its net profits to US GAAP leap 83.9% year-on-year to $76.13 million in the first quarter of 2004, a company press release reports. $417.7 million. Operating Income Before Depreciation and Amortization (OIBDA) grew 87.2% to $202.02 million. Average monthly Revenue Per User (ARPU) dropped 20% to $10.8, compared with $13.5 in the first quarter of 2003. Subscriber acquisition cost (SAC) was $16.8, against $20.8. The company had over 13.37 million subscribers as of March 31. Vimpelcom invested $157 million in the first quarter of 2004, which was spent on assets and equipment.
