Major BP oil development in Russia under threat - agency
Moscow, 28 May: The Russian-British joint venture TNK-BP may have to cease production at the Samotlor oilfield, the
biggest in Russia, because the company does not have a development plan approved by the Russian government, the Oil
Information Agency (ANI) was told at the Ministry of Industry and Energy public relations centre.
The ANI information was confirmed by a source in the Ministry of Natural Resources.
"The main issue with TNK-BP is serious violations of the geological exploration schedule," the interlocutor
said.
