Sibur to sell stake in Kuranmashzavod
KURGAN. May 26 (Interfax) - Siberian-Urals Petrochemical and Gas Company (Sibur), which owns 50.6% in Kurganmashzavod, a leading Russian defense industry plant, may sell a large stake in the plant if a buyer is found, Mikhail Zaichenko, a Sibur spokesman, said. "So far no serious bids have been received," said Zaichenko, who was elected to the Kurganmashzavod board at the AGM on Wednesday. Kurganmashzavod General Director Valery Dorodny said the only way to return the company into government hands would be for state organizations to buy the controlling stake. However, this would require hundreds of millions of rubles, he said. About 35% of Kurganmashzavod shares are owned by 14,500 private shareholders. [RU ASIA EUROPE EEU EMRG ENR MAC IPO MRG STX] me
