Russian envoy calls on Sherpao
ISLAMABAD, May 26 :The outgoing Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Mr Eduard Shevch called on the Federal Minister for Water and Power Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao here on Wednesday. During the meeting the ambassador discussed with the minister the steps being taken by Russian government to improve bilateral trade and investment in the country. Mr Shevch hoped that the ties between the two countries in the fields of energy and commerce and trade would strengthen even further with the passage of time. He said that the Russian investors are interested in investing in Pakistan and both the countries can move ahead in this field. Russian Envoy also applauded the economic and trade policies initiated by President General Pervez Musharraf. He specially mentioned the government's emphasis on improvement of water resources and conversation and optimum use of water. The Minister on this occasion thanked the outgoing Russian ambassador for his efforts for improvement of bilateral trade ties between the two countries. Mr Sherpao specially mentioned the prospects of enhancing cooperation between the two countries for the establishment of power plants. He said Russia has great technical expertise in the field of power plant construction and hoped that Pakistan would benefit from this. Minister said that improving the water resources and proper utilization of water would shape the better future for Pakistan and its economy and ensure a bright future for its people.
