Mitsubishi Motors increases 2004 sales plan
MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - Mitsubishi Motors has increased its 2004 sales plan for Russia to 27,700 vehicles, said Valery Tarakanov, the general manager of marketing group Rolf, part of Rolf Holding, Mitsubishi's official distributor in Russia. Mitsubishi had earlier planned to sell 23,000 vehicles in 2004, compared with 17,663 in 2003. The plan has now been increased because a greater number of new foreign cars are expected to be sold in Russia as a whole. "The market will grow by about 84% (not counting the Chevrolet-Niva) on 2003 to about 350,000 - 355,000," Tarakanov said. Mitsubishi Motors will continue to put out new models on the Russian market in 2004, he said. In the fall, sales of the new compact Colt and Outlander Turbo are planned. The company also plans to continue developing its dealership network in Russia. It currently has 51 dealerships in 38 cities. [RU ASIA EUROPE EEU EMRG AUT RESF CORA TRD JP] me
