Opec president hints at greater output
OIL PRICES fell $1 in New York yesterday after Opec's president said the oil cartel was considering a big increase in output to make a "psychological impact". The US Energy Secretary, Spencer Abraham, helped fuel a 2.5 per cent sell-off when he said he saw signs of extra supplies from Mexico, Nigeria and Russia, as well as those promised by Saudi Arabia.
