Norilsk Nickel in talks on building own fleet
MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - MMC Norilsk Nickel, Russia's Arctic smelting giant, is negotiating with Finnish shipbuilder Kvaerner Masa- Yards over the building of reinforced-hull vessels for plying Arctic waters, a source close to the negotiations told Interfax. The talks are slated to wrap up before the end of July, he said. The cost of single vessel of this type ranges from $60 million. Norilsk Nickel currently rents this kind of ship.
