Russia`s GAZ automakers say sales up 33.5%
GAZ's output for the first three months of 2004 - 56,209 vehicles and vehicle kits - exceeded that for the first quarter of 2003 by NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia. (Interfax) - Russia's Gorky Automotive Plant (GAZ) says it sold 52,818 vehicles in the first quarter of 2004 or 33.5% more than in the same period in 2003. 35.1%. Sales totaled 10.25 billion rubles or 34.6% more than those for the January-March period in 2003 in real terms. Ukraine is GAZ's main customer in the Commonwealth of Independent States, having imported 15,562 vehicles in 2003. The same year, GAZ supplied 8,967 kits to Ukraine's Kremenchuh Automotive Vehicle Assembly Plant, which assembles Volga cars and GAZel and Sobol light trucks.
