26 May 2004 13:53 Russian-Chinese economic cooperation expanding, prime minister Moscow, 26 May: Russia and China must focus on the development of the modern forms of trade and economic cooperation
and primarily on investment projects, as well as production and technology. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov today
said this at a meeting with the chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, Wu
Bangguo.
"We are satisfied with the level of Russian-Chinese relations and intend to consistently keep to the course of
deepening and expanding Russian-Chinese cooperation," Fradkov said.
Fradkov expressed satisfaction with the dynamic growth of the Russian-Chinese trade turnover. It increased by over 30
per cent in 2003 compared with 2002 and reached the 15.76bn dollars record-breaking index.
During the talks the two sides also discussed cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
