Russian trade surplus tops $24 bln - ministry
MOSCOW. May 24 (Interfax) - Russia's foreign trade surplus was just over $24 billion in January-April, said Andrei Klepach, head of the Russian Economic Development and Trade Ministry's Macroeconomic Forecasting Department. Klepach said Russian exports rose 23% year-on-year to $51 billion and imports went up 21% to $26.6 billion-$26.7 billion. Klepach forecast that import growth would slow somewhat from now on.
