Russian ministry predicts 6 per cent industrial growth in 2004
Moscow, 24 May: Russia's industrial output is expected to increase 6-6.1 per cent in 2004, according to preliminary estimates by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, Director of the ministry's macroeconomic forecast department Andrey Klepach told reporters on Monday [24 May]. Earlier the ministry forecast industrial output growth at 5.9 per cent this year. In April the industrial output rose 0.7 per cent, while in March it grew 0.1 per cent. Klepach said that Russia's industrial output is increasing as fast as in late 2003 but a little bit slower than in early 2003.
