Court to hear Tax Ministry petition on Yukos taxes May 26
MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - The Moscow arbitration court has set May 26 as the date for hearing a petition from the Tax Ministry in its effort to have overturned a ruling suspending the ministry's efforts to get 99.4 billion rubles in unpaid taxes, fines and penalties from oil major Yukos. The ministry accuses Yukos of tax avoidance via so-called internal offshores. On April 14, the ministry completed at tax review of Yukos's tax payments for 2000, and ordered the company to pay 99,375,538,234 rubles in back taxes, penalties and fines.
