Avtovaz to buy metal from Korea, Austria
MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - Avtovaz, a major Russian car manufacturer, plans to start buying metal in South Korea and Austria in the second half of 2004, the company told Interfax. Avtovaz attributed its plans to the situation on the metals market but did not say how much it planned to buy in these countries. The company purchased a sample consignment of cold-rolled galvanized sheet from South Korea at the beginning of March totaling 120 tonnes because of a rise in prices for Russian metal.
