price of a 51% stake in national telecoms operator Kyrgyztelecom, Tatiana Nagavitsina, a spokeswoman for the Kyrgyzstan
State Property Committee, told Interfax.
The Kyrgyztelecom privatization tender committee was unable to reach an agreement with the winner of the tender -
Swedtel so the State Property Committee wrote to Rostelecom, the other contestant, asking it to repeat its bid.
In its official reply, Rostelecom proposed lowering the price from what it had originally offered, which Kyrgyzstan
refused. Rostelecom then proposed a new price, but it is still lower than the $15.29 million bid at tender. Talks
continue.
