VolgaTelecom ups profit in Q1
NIZHNY NOVGOROD. May 20 (Interfax) - VolgaTelecom posted net profit of 516.315 million rubles in the first quarter of 2004, up 12.1% year- on-year, the company reported. Revenue increased 39% to 4.34 billion rubles, including a 39% rise for telecom services revenue to 4.24 billion rubles. Production costs grew 37.8% to 3.12 billion rubles. Sales profit jumped 42.1% to 1.23 billion rubles and pretax profit 22% to 770.03 billion rubles. Company receivables increased 23% to 2.02 billion rubles and payables fell 17% to 2.57 billion rubles. Svyazinvest owns 51% of VolgaTelecom voting shares and 38% of charter capital. Nominal shareholders are ING Bank Eurasia with 17.73% and Depository Clearing Company with 9.71%.
