19 May 2004 05:20 Kalina appoints independent director to head board YEKATERINBURG. May 19 (Interfax) - The board of major Russian cosmetics company Kalina has appointed Johan Gritsen
Vreemen, an independent director, to head the company's board, Sergei Kazantsev, a spokesman for Kalina told
Interfax.
Alexander Petrov, the concern's economy and finance director, who previously led the board, will remain a member
of the board, he said.
has worked as a director for various ccompanies in Russia and the
Netherlands and was executive director of Rabo Black Earth B.V. He
Vreemen, a Dutch citizen, was born in 1945. He graduated from university in Amsterdam and Wharton Business School in
Philadelphia. He
manages and owns the holding company Corpeq B.V.
Vreemen became a member of the Kalina board in 2000 and an independent director on the board in July 2003.
The concern includes the Kalina cosmetics plant and Novoplast (both in Yekaterinburg), a detergents plant in Omsk,
Lola atir Upa (Uzbekistan), Kalina Overseas Holding B.V. (Netherlands), Pallada-Vostok (Uzbekistan), Torzhok (Ukraine)
and Pallada-Ukraine.
Kalina General Director Timur Goryaev owns 66.04% of the company and the European Bank for Reconstruction and
