18 May 2004 05:51 Vologda Cellular Communications buys 60% of Northwest Telecom MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - St. Petersburg's Northwest Telecom has sold 60% of its shares to Vologda Cellular
Communications, which provides NMT-450 cellular services, a company press release states.
The board of directors of Northwest Telecom decided at the beginning of 2004 to sell a share package of three
providers of NMT-450 cellular services that it owned. MS-Direct, which owns 100% of Sky Link, intended to buy 60% of the
shares in Vologda Cellular Communications, 33.5% of Kaliningrad Mobile Communications and 25% of Murmansk-based
Tele-Nord, head of Northwest Telecom's press service Tatiana Borisenko told Interfax at the time. The deal is worth
some $200,000.
Northwest Telecom in January 2004 sold Sky Link 43.12% of St. Peterburg's Delta Telecom, which provides NMT-450
and IMT-MC-450 cellular services.
MS-Direct owns share packages and a share of charter capital ranging from 25%-100% in 40 regional operators which
provide NMT-450 cellular services.
Northwest Telecom is made up of 9 telecommunications providers in Russia's northwest region. Svyazinvest owns
