Russian premier sets new oil export duty
Moscow, 19 May: Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has signed a government ruling which sets the oil export duty at 41.6 US dollars per tonne as of 1 June, an official with the government press service told reporters on Wednesday [19 May]. On Monday a government ruling setting oil products export duty at 37.5 dollars per tonne was signed. The new duty rate is to apply a month after the publication of the ruling in the government press. >From 1 April through to 31 May the oil export duty stands at 35.2 dollars per tonne. Since 19 April the export duty on oil products was set at 31.7 dollars per tonne. The Russian government setting of oil export duties depends on the oil price movements on the international market in the previous quarter.
