Russia raises industrial output 7.4% in Jan-April
MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russia raised its industrial output 7.4% year-on-year in January-April 2004, compared to a 6.3% rise in the first four months of 2003, the Federal State Statistics Service reported Tuesday. Industrial production grew 6.7% year-on-year in April 2004, 6.6% in March, 8.7% in February and 7.5% in January. Production dropped 3.8% from March 2004 in April. Excluding the impact of differences in the amount of working days, industrial output increased 6.4% year-on-year in January-April 2004, with a 9.2% rise in January, 6.1% in February, 3.4% in March, and 6.7% in April.
