18 May 2004 17:06 RUSSIA: RUSSIA RAISES INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT 7.4 PERCENT Russia raised its industrial output 7.4 percent year-on-year in January-April 2004, compared to a 6.3 percent rise in
the first four months of 2003, the Federal State Statistics Service reported. Industrial production grew 6.7 percent
year-on-year in April 2004, 6.6 percent in March, 8.7 percent in February and 7.5 percent in January. Production dropped
3.8 percent from March 2004 in April. Excluding the impact of differences in the amount of working days, industrial
output increased 6.4 percent year-on-year in January-April 2004, with a 9.2 percent rise in January, 6.1 percent in
