Russian ban on cattle imports from BSE countries takes effect
Imports to Russia of animals from countries where mad cow disease cases have been registered are banned with effect from today. The ban affects 24 countries, including such major suppliers as Canada and the USA. In this way, the authorities are hoping to prevent the penetration of our country's territory by pathogens of this disease, which is continuing to spread across Europe. Eating the meat of infected animals can kill humans.
