suit against oil company Yukos for May 21.

The ministry is seeking to recover 99.4 billion rubles from Yukos in tax arrears.
The court also rejected a Yukos petition that the suit not
be considered, as the Yukos side claimed that documents
The court also turned down a Yukos petition claiming that
the consideration of the case is not within the Moscow
suspended. The request was motivated by the fact that the same court is scheduled on May 28 to hear Yukos's
request to invalidate the Tax Ministry's April 14 decision.

Arbitration Court's jurisdiction. The company's lawyers argued that Yukos is registered in Khanty-Mansiisk,
so the dispute must be considered there and not in Moscow.
At the previous session on May 7, the court satisfied a Tax Ministry petition to involve Yukos-Moscow in the
proceedings as a co-defendant.
The Tax Ministry has accused Yukos of tax evasion using so- called internal off-shore areas, or regions within Russia
that enjoy tax privileges. The ministry earlier told Interfax that on April 14 it had inspected Yukos's payment of
