Court to hear Tax Ministry suit against Yukos on May 21
MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - Moscow City Arbitration Court scheduled preliminary hearings of the Tax Ministry's suit against oil company Yukos for May 21. A Yukos lawyer told Interfax that the court rejected on Friday a request from the oil major to have the proceedings The ministry is seeking to recover 99.4 billion rubles from Yukos in tax arrears. The court also rejected a Yukos petition that the suit not be considered, as the Yukos side claimed that documents The court also turned down a Yukos petition claiming that the consideration of the case is not within the Moscow suspended. The request was motivated by the fact that the same court is scheduled on May 28 to hear Yukos's request to invalidate the Tax Ministry's April 14 decision. confirming the powers of those who filed the suit had not been submitted with it.
