Khristenko calls for predictable oil prices
MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - Acting Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko has called for predictable oil prices on the world market. "It is better to have a more predictable, balanced situation than peaks. In any case we should not be happy about peaks, because any peak may be followed by a slump," the ministry's PR department quoted Khristenko as saying. Regarding gasoline prices in Russia, Khristenko said that a whole range of factors has led to growth: "First of all there is the seasonal factor, connected with spring field work. Secondly, there is price growth on the world market. In addition, costs have changed at oil companies due to growth in price for a number of items, including for metal," he said. Another factor that has caused gasoline prices to increase is the increase in the export duty on crude oil, Khristenko said. [RU EUROPE ASIA EEU EMRG ENR CRU OIL TRD MOG] rd <>
