13 May 2004 18:58 GAZPROM REP APPOINTED LIETUVOS DUJOS DEPUTY DIRECTOR VILNIUS. May 13 (Interfax) - The executive board of Lithuanian gas concern Lietuvos Dujos has appointed Vladimir
Obukhov, deputy head of the Gazprom gas sales department, as the company's deputy general director, according to an
announcement published in the Lithuanian print media on Thursday.
Gazprom finalized a deal in March 2004 to purchase 34% of shares in
Lietuvos Dujos. The company's main shareholders - Gazprom, the
Obukhov's main duties will continue to be his position at Gazprom, the announcement said.
Lithuanian Property Fund and Germany's Ruhrgas Energie Beteiligung AG - signed a shareholder agreement,
according to which Joachim Hockertz from Ruhrgas was appointed as Lietuvos Dujos deputy general director for gas
sales.
Lietuvos Dujos sold 828.1 million cubic meters of gas to consumers
in 2003, up 42.4% from 2002. This accounted for 29% of total gas
Gazprom will receive the right to appoint its representative as the general director of Lietuvos Dujos in two years.
This position is currently occupied by Ruhrgas representative Eike Benke.
Gazprom is represented on the executive board of the Lithuanian company by its Deputy CEO Alexander Ryazanov and
departmental chief and OOO Mezhregiongaz General Director Kirill Seleznyov.
Lietuvos Dujos buys, transports and distributes gas. It operates 1,630 kilometers of high-pressure gas pipeline and
employees 2,200 people. It owns one compressor station, one gas measuring station and 58 gas distribution stations.
