13 May 2004 06:24 Russian Drugs Trade Control Service holds drill, reports successes The Russian Federal Service for Drugs Trade Control has held tactical exercises in the Republic of Dagestan. Various
special operations were drilled during the exercises, including the arrest of drug traffickers and the destruction of an
underground drug-producing factory.
The Service has sent to court more than 40 criminal cases launched against drug-dealers since early this year, the
service command says. Over the last week alone it has destroyed opium and marijuana, the total amount of which is
estimated at R2m [approximately 70,000 dollars].
