PNA Speaker condemns Israeli "escalation" in Gaza
Nablus, 12 May: Palestinian National Council [PNC] Speaker Salim al-Za'nun has condemned the Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip. He stressed that the Israeli threats to target President Yasir Arafat and the continuing incursions, assassinations, killing, destruction and siege are a formula to truly frustrate efforts to revive the political process. They aim to kill the road map and confirm the hostile intentions of Sharon's government towards our people and their leadership, despite its claims of willingness to achieve peace. Al-Za'nun urged all world states and the Quartet committee [the UN, the EU, Russia, the USA] to shoulder their responsibility and confront these Israeli criminal policies, which disregard international legitimacy and its related resolutions.
