South Korea`s acting president sends message of sympathy to Russian leader
Seoul, 10 May: South Korean Prime Minister Goh Kun sent a message of condolence Monday [10 May] to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the death of Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov in a bomb blast the day before. Goh expressed his deep sorrow for the victims of the attack and wished the injured a quick recovery. Goh, who took over as interim leader following the impeachment of President Roh Moo-hyun in March, vowed that South Korea would join hands with Russia in international efforts to root out terrorism, noting that acts of terrorism are serious crimes that cannot be justified under any circumstances. Chechnya's pro-Kremlin president was killed Sunday when an explosion ripped through a stadium in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, during a Victory Day parade. Russia's Victory Day marks the defeat of Nazi Germany at the end of World War II.
