MTS ups net profit
MOSCOW. April 30 (Interfax) - Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), a major Russian mobile phone services provider, posted net
profit of 3.26 billion rubles in the first quarter of 2004, up 13.2% on the previous quarter, the company reported.
MTS attributes the rise in profit to an increase in its subscriber base and higher sales.
AFK Sistema owns 50.4% of MTS, T-Mobile Worldwide Holding, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, owns 25.15% and 22.3%
